Default Previewing CSS - 05-26-2004 , 02:34 AM

Hi,
This is probably a no brainer for someone out there, but this is new for me
with 2004. When I'm building a page in dreamweaver using CSS classes, and I try
to preview the page, some of the CSS attributes will not preview. The page
opens in the browser but things will be missing. For instance, if I specifiy
that I would like to have an image background in a box, when I preview in
either explorer or Safari (on a Mac) the background will not show. If I specify
a boarder to the box, it will not preview. This never happened in MX. In fact I
can take the page I created in MX2004 and open it in MX and it previews with
all the attributes in tack though not quite perfectly. If I upload the style
sheet and code to a web page and view it in a browser over the web, the CSS is
working fine. Am I missing something or do have have a preference set wrong? I
am on a G4 1.4 running OS 10.3 and Dreamweaver 7.1 ThanksTextText

I am not sure if this will help but if the graphic was created in an image
editor and the colour profile was say "CMYK" instead of RGB I have found that
the image will not always display even though this may have been saved as a GIf
/ JPEG.

I assume you have also fully checked your CSS otherwise to ensure there is no
positioning that would either hide the image or push it out of view will
padding, borders, z-index etc. If the top one does not solve this problem maybe
try just displaying the image on a new blank page with the background image
and no positioining.
