Default Pop-up Menu Question - 07-06-2004 , 03:25 PM

I am using the Dreamweaver Javascript pop-up command. My button that activates
this command has a rollover and when you curse over the pop-up menu the
rollover goes back to its original state. Is there anyway to keep that button
rollover while scrolling over the pop-up menu??

Thanks, Nicole

Nicole:

There may be - check the MM Technotes for pop-up related suggestions. But
while you are reading, read this one very carefully, too -

http://apptools.com/rants/jsmenu.php

These pop-ups are big trouble.

I tried doing the pop-up menu with layers first, but I was having troubles as
well. My page is centered so everytime I resize the page, my layers turn up
somewhere different. Also, you had to be extremely precise when scrolling over
to the menu or else you would loose it, and I still had the same rollover
problem. So someone in my office just told me to use the dreamweaver built in
pop-up to save myself the hassle, but if you could help me solve my initial
problems with the layered way, then I will always do it that way from now on.

I don't think I will exaggerate when I say that the layer method is much
simpler and less trouble-prone. And, you will not have any problems with
link management or search engine spidering using that method (as you do with
the DW/FW pop-up menus).

Now - do you use CSS?
