Default Pop up menu from FW Mx import into DM MX - 07-19-2004 , 04:59 PM

I am working on a project using Fireworks MX and Dreamweaver MX. I created one
image with a nav. bar using pop menus. I exported Fireworks file (html) and
inserted into Dreamweaver using Insert Object/fireworks html. I added a layer
with editable regions, a table, then text. That's were the problems start...

When using pop over menus...the text goes over the pop over menu causing the
pop over menu not to work right correctly and text in body causes you not able
to read pop menu.

Welcome to pop-up menu hell. Macromedia has much more in store for you,
maggot. Now drop and give me 20.

Seriously, don't use these menus at all. Here's why -

http://www.projectseven.com/tutorials/navigation/auto_hide/index.htm

go there if you want to learn to make good, solid and reliable pop-up menus.
personally i would recommend that you use the projectseven method as opposed
to the DW or FW behaviors. it works much better and involves a LOT less code.

I tried going to pvii but i don't know how to use ccs. I know I must learn but
not today. Is there another way to build pop menus that will work. Or am I
better off just having someone write the script for the pop menu i need.

any other sites out there that provide a simple pop menu I can purchase and
impletement into my design.

By the way, it's not necessary to learn any new technologies to build them
yourself.

This (admittedly complex) menu is made using simple show-hide layers (and a
few tricks) -

Although I have used CSS to style the text, you could just as easily use
graphics for the buttons.
