I am trying to set up my first ASP pages in DWMX and have downloaded the test Calendar and Events.aspx pages from the tut at http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/mx/dreamweaver/articles/aspnet_calendar.html. When I get to the part of the tut that says, "Then, open up your browser and enter the following URL: http://localhost/aspnet_calendar/events.aspx. The events entered in the aspnet_calendar database are for March of 2003. To see the information from the database displayed in the calendar, you will need to scroll back to March 2003 in the calendar", when I try to PREVIEW from DWMX in IE6, I get the error: "The page cannot be displayed - Cannot find server or DNS Error" IF I TYPE "http://localhost/aspnet_calendar/events.aspx" (rather than "c:\...") as the URL, IE6 hangs as if processing. According to the tut, I should be seeing a calendar. The files ARE in the directory that is referenced (I've quadruple checked my URL and dirs.) You are talking to an absolute NEWBIE here so I would appreciate any dumbed down help you can get. |

I take it these .aspx pages are ASP.NET, not ASP. Have you installed the .NET framework on your design PC? Paul Taylor |
