php threaded forum

I have been using phpbb as a forum for a client. the client would like a
multi-threaded forum and there doesn't seem to be any working add-ons to the
phpbb.

can anyone suggest a (preferably free) php forum with multi-threaded
discussions? small fee is fine too. would need to be formatted graphically
to match the site.
