php & sql server 2000

I am currently developing in DW MX 2004 using php&mysql. My company
have just invested in SQL Server 2000 for a different project and i am
looking to standardise on our database platform.

Is there an extention available to connect to SQL Server 2000 in a
similar way that the connection to mysql works? or is there a simple
way to manipulate the connection file for the connection to mysql?
