Default Pasting data into table cells - 11-30-2007 , 07:27 AM

What's the best way of pasting data (from Excel say) into the cells of an
existing table?

Having progressed from GoLive I got used to simply selecting a cell and then
pasting the data which would flow into the appropriate adjoining cells, but I
cannot see a way of doing that in DW (even though DW does seem much more
capable when dealing with table data) .

DW doesn't do this. However, if you save the data as a CSV file, DW will
import it (FILE | IMPORT), albeit into a new table.

You can suggest this to the dev team -

Hmm, thanks. Yes, that's what I thought but it's a disappointingly long way of doing things.

Yeah, I wondered about that too.

Mind you most MS Office applications embed such nasty html that I'm surprised
it doesn't put in font, font size, line height, name of parents, gender and
religion as well... ;-)

But one other thing that I miss in the transition from GL to DW is the
keyboard shortcut, Ctrl + Shift + N to strip out cell attributes (really useful
when going over 10 years worth of tables, as I'm currently doing).
