Default OT: The Old Toad Quiz: July 12 2004, medium. - 07-13-2004 , 11:06 AM

http://mickweb.com/quiz/index.html

Please check for typos and any factual errors.

Passing Scores:
USA 55%
ROTW: 45%

A riot nearly erupted at the Toad last night concerning the following
question (ommitted from the posted quiz):

"How many paired chromosomes are there in a human male?"

A mild mannered professorial type exploded with indignity when informed
of the Old Toad answer to ths question.

Thanks.
Mick

55%. My first passing score in quite a while.

Only suggestion:
14. What professional sports player starred

would sound better as:
14. What professional athlete starred

would sound even better, What professional basketball player starred (they
are all basketball players anyway).

Don't take advice from someone who hasn't "passed" an OT quiz in like 3
months.

Should we change the spelling of that word to 'athalete' to better reflect
the way most people (sportscasters, anyway) pronounce it?

I'm trying to work in a "nuclear--nukeular" joke here, but I'm unable to do
so quickly.

Well, I think the phrase "sports player" is just kinda awkward, that's all

Just so we're all straight, it's 23 pairs, or 46 chromosomes, right?

(That's per cell. So a human mail will have zillions of them, but I think we
all know what the question meant)

And what difference does it make if it's male? Same number for all humans,
disregarding those who were born with things like Down's syndrome, which
gives them an extra chromosome.
