OT: Newsgroup account name raided?

Hi Guys and Girls,

Is it possible for someone remotely to alter the name of a Newsgroup
account without actually physically having access to the computer?

Just had a really weird experience. I've not been monitoring my groups
for a few days due to work load but now I have a newsgroup account that
I didn't create listed.

The email it's using is given as invasion (AT) hotmail (DOT) com and the title of
the newsgroup account is 'invasion' I guess by the name says it all but wtf?

How is that possible...no one else but myself uses this machine?

Sounds like two are now using it, You and Invasion,
It could be a bot ??

Hummm.....it's a bit weird whatever it is. Anyway I've reset to the
correct email and account name...so we'll see what happens.

I don't much like the idea of things just wandering around my computer
changing stuff.

Hi Osgood,
I take it you have run spyware and malware security programs to make
sure your not infected?
