Default OT- Controlling how PDF's open - 01-01-2006 , 11:12 AM

Happy New Year to all Dreamweavers!

My client wants to have their PDF's open in Full Page view rather than
the Magnified 168% that usually happens. Any suggestions on how to make
that happen?

Here's wishing everyone a Safe and Happy New Year. May all of your
pages easily validate.

Thanks,
Chris

AS I'm sure you know, how a PDF opens (or doesn't) has as much to do with
how the site visitor has browser and plugin configured. In this case,
unless there's an option in Acrobat (the generator) to open to a specific
size, I don't know as it can be done.

If you're referring to zoom, just use the zoom parameter, for example:

http://partners.adobe.com/public/dev...eters.pdf#zoom
=100
which incidently is a document that lists the pdf open paramters.

The full Acrobat software, not the Acrobat Reader, lets you set the
opening zoom level of the PDF document itself (amoung lots of other
things). I'm not sure if there's any other software that lets you
access such document preferences.

Hello,

This is not possible with the browser. You need to change this while
creating them.

Bregent,

Thanks so much, I knew that there was someone out there with the
answers. Joe and Mick- thanks too; I guess we all learned something here.

Have a Happy New Year!

Chip
