But when a client wants hell lot of traffic to his pathetic site and

to keep interested till I can put the site in a saleable situation.
Fire the client.

Lucky...you can do that. Not a viable option from me.......

That's because you're using the Web Forum version of this newsgroup. Because
of the poor way it works, you won't see a lot of posts. We strongly
recommend that, instead, you use a newsreader (like Microsoft Outlook) to
access this group.

My post (made before others posted somewhat the same thing):

"I haven't used it, but I can almost guarantee you that it's a *useless*
marketing gimmick. Even if this company does manage to send traffic to your
site, it certainly won't be "unlimited", and it certainly won't be targeted
enough to be good for anything - unless the application is a skilled human
being who spends at least 10-20 hours a month focusing on marketing your web
site using a number of different techniques."

Right. I dropped the idea of using the stuff. Most people had exactly the same
views. And just getting traffic like mad is not the answer to anything.

Thanks for your time.
[P.S. Newsgroups jams my mailbox. its better I post here directly. However
this is the first time I have seen a bug like tthis when a post was not
included here.]

Just FYI, newsgroups don't jam mailboxes. The posts don't go anywhere near
your mailbox, and they don't download until you tell them to.

Also, there's nothing "direct" about using the web forum. The newsgroup
would be the direct way to post.

It happens constantly. It's the bane of our existence. People from the web
forums post a question here, and we answer, and then they post again saying,
"Can't anyone help me?" It makes them look silly, and frustrates the
reply-ers.

Just letting you know.

I get over that problem by using a different email program for
newsgroups & lists, obviously with a different email address.

I infinitely prefer this to using web based forums.
I have a feeling you might both be talking about email lists? There's no
reason newsgroups should "jam your mailbox"..

Well yes - maybe I was a little careless with the term.

I keep mailing lists away from my normal email, but I also use the
same email/news program ( Agent ) for forums.
And how does reading newsgroups "jam your mailbox"?
