Default Opera not recognizing my style sheet - 06-21-2004 , 04:02 PM

Hello,

First of all, here's the http://www.fellowshipindedham.org/sermons.asp (note:
very much under construction).

The problem I'm encountering is in Opera (which I'm growing to despise even
more than Netscape.....who would've thought?). Opera does not seem to want to
recognize my CSS style sheet.

Anyone know why and how I can fix that (other than my preferred solution: tell
Opera users to get a real browser)?

Thanks, Eddie

looks fine to me in opera 7.51 on win98se. you should
validate your html and don't forget to include a doctype.
opera can be a bit freaky sometimes...

It looked pretty consistent to me across IE6.1, Opera 7.23, Netscape 7.1,
Mozilla 1.6, and Mozilla Firefox .9.

Ditto on using a doctype. You are using HTML for presentation items like your
top margin and font attributes as well as your CSS which could give you some
unexpected results and defeats one of the reasons for using CSS. Use a
Transitional doctype.

Looks good!

Hmmm....must be my own copy of Opera, then. Nice to know it's largely behaving
for you guys. Thanks!

I'd originally taken out the DOCTYPE statement because I wanted to stretch the
site height to 100% and had heard that the DOCTYPE statement more or less makes
that verboten. I guess if nothing else I could just encase the whole page in
the center cell of a big table and try to just center it vertically and
horizontally (although I do kinda like the "wide-screen DVD" look I more or
less stumbled onto -- maybe I'll keep that part).

The whole site is under construction (and in some cases, reconstruction).
Thanks again!

(I don't suppose anyone tried the page in Safari....just to round out the
whole Browser Bunch?????)
