The problem here is that you're expecting Dreamweaver to be like a word
processor, and it is *definitely* not. It aims to help you write
correct HTML. There aren't any consecutive spaces in HTML, so DW
doesn't insert them.
Well, for the record, *I'm* not expecting it to be like a word
processor. I understand what it's doing and why. I'm just trying to
explain Design view's behavior to someone who *is* expecting it to be
like a word processor; and, apparantly, further trying to explain to
people who *do* understand Design view's behavior that people who are
*not* used to this behavior and who do not understand how whitespace is
rendered in HTML may be confused by the difference.
We get that you're confused by the difference. That's why we've been
explaining it. Hope it's clear now.

Ummmmm . . . . huh?

Sorry, I'm out of patience to explain it. Maybe a book or a class will help.

Humor. Can't get enough o' that stuff. (unless you're not joking, in
which case . . . huh?)
