Default NewComer to Web Design - 11-23-2004 , 03:49 PM

Hello. After being away from design for about 5 years, I have rekindle my
immense passion for the arts. I am currently building a website, but am having
difficulties.

I am using tables for my site (don't know if this is the way to go). Here is a
site that I really like, and I am wondering if anyone can explain to me how
they created the table where when you click a link, it opens in the same table.
I would like to do the same, but I haven't figured that out yet.

www.moscahome.com

I greatly appreciate the assistance

either they used the free snap layer alone with the redoit from
http://www.projectseven.com (maybe a few hours of a learning curb) or got
the brilliant commercial from
http://www.flevooware.nl/dreamweaver/extdetails.asp?extID=18 that does it
all in seconds and with great ease.

The designer created one page the way she/he wanted it and then when you click
on a link it takes you to a new page, setup the same way with new content.

check out the page code by selecting "view source" or some similar thing from
your browser's menu. It can be very interesting to look and learn.

to create all those changing pictures when you rollover a number, you need to
use Fireworks in combination with dreamweaver. If you are just getting
started, save that for lesson 2.

So, in moscahome.com, there are multiple pages, with the same table structure
and different content.

And everyone does their things differently, but I love tables, and love to mix
static widths and full page widths.

http://www.crestonecreations.com/web is my web gallery.

hope this helps.

some of the pages i.e.
http://moscahome.com/site/mediterraneo.php?id=5

use a show layer onclick/onmouseover

http://www.projectseven.com/extensions/info/layeranimagic/
http://www.projectseven.com/extensions/index.htm

still my fav to do this is the layer geni from, it is also very good at
creating a 100 and one different types of menus.

Well, I have a number of web sites (about a half-dozen) - but none of them
are profit-making. I'm already investing a great deal in this stuff, in
terms of hosting, software etc. But I don't think I would remotely consider
a tool like that unless I was doing this for a living. That miraculously
changes what is taken into consideration.

In that case it is understandable. :-)
