Default NEWBIE NEEDS HELP WITH FRAMES!! - 02-01-2004 , 03:28 PM

Okay, here's my problem: Go to www.macromedia.com and check out the main page. If you're viewing it in 1024, then you'll see that there's 3 vertical frames; left, main and right. Now, my site has to do just that -- have 2 vertical frames, BUT if someone is viewing it in 800x600, I want to make it so that the main frame is centered, and the left and right frames aren't seen at all.

So essentially, I want a perfectly central, statically dimensioned main frame, with a left and right dynamic frame that changes depending on the screen resolution.

ANY HELP would be MUCH appreciated!!

Marko

Last time I checked they were *not* using frames (Murray didn't let that
happen).
You should drop the frames and try CSS or tables

1. Macromedia.com does not use ANY frames. None. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Keine.
Aucun. Ningunos. Nessun. Geddit?

2. Neither should you! Frames should be used by intermediate-advanced to
advanced users only. They present more problems than they are worth and there
is almost ALWAYS a better way to accomplish what you want.

3. There is a better way to accomplish what you want. As a matter of fact, you
CAN'T accomplish what you want with frames.

4. Have a look here to see how this is accomplished:

Out of curiosity, did you receive the 2 emails I've sent you off-NG?
