Default New template in css - 11-06-2005 , 05:12 AM

Hi People

I'm updating a clients web site which is in reality going to be a rebuild.
It's a nice job as he knows exactly what he wants and his in house design
team has given me a basic page layout.

Ok I looked at it and "chickened out" and created it in table for the client
approval stage.

Question is it possible to create this layout in CSS or should I stick to
the tables

cheers

Ian

Sure it is, but do you want to use this job as a learning experience?

This is pretty basic and I don't see what scares you with this layout.
There is no column, no floats, nothing...
IMO, this is the perfect project for a first try at "CSS-P"...

I never seem to stop learning! Everytime I think I've got something sorted
someone else points ouit a better wat to do it!.

There seems to be three schools:- never use tables use CSS , always use
tables for design and use whats best for the job.

I've only recently got into the concept of using css for design and am still
trying to get my head around which is best - although I do like css.

The template took me an hour to make using tables so now I know it'a
possible I'll see how long it takes in CSS . Initially it will of course
take longer but it will be interesting to see how long it takes when I have
the method sorted

cheers
