You would use a "design-time stylesheet" which you can read about in DW's F1
Help.

Not sure what this all means. But it may be academic if the DT stylesheets
solve your problem.

Question about applying a style to a library item:

In GoLive, you can apply custom styles within a Component, but it appears
not
so in DW with Library Items.

What is the best way to apply a custom style to a Library Item? I'm
reading up
on it now. It appears that only general styles within the HTML page are
applied, such as p and body. Do I need to make a special div for the item
in
order to apply a class style?

It's no problem. We want to make this transition as easy as possible for
you, but you will need to remember that DW is VERY different than GL (as I
am sure you already understand). One of the largest differences is that
most of the responses on the GL forums are OPERATIONAL (e.g., click here,
select that, etc.) while most of the responses here are CODE-based (e.g.,
change this to this, and this to this, etc.). This means that most
responders will ask you for your code or to see a link to a live page, and
in fact, that's the very best way to troubleshoot and solve any web
development problems, even those that are only seen inside Dreamweaver.
This difference may take some adjustment on your part. You can definitely
flatten that adjustment curve by taking the time to study some HTML and CSS,
meanwhile.

Thank you for explaining. I am slowly catching on to the differences on
different levels.

Do you feel like we ask you to do that?

Sometimes. I must work on exaggerating tendencies. Sorry.

Of course, all this will go away when Adobe kills NNTP forums in the near
future.... 8( I fear that many of the really good regulars will also vanish
when that happens.

I hope we don't look the good regulars. I have never used NNTP. I'm accustomed
to reading the threads.
