Fireworks is an image editor, Dreamweaver is an HTML/js/css/etc. editor. Never
use one to do the other. Although Macromedia has given you options to do this,
you are seeing the results of this. What you will end up with is bad/bloated
code.
Build your table in Dreamweaver (STANDARD VIEW NOT LAYOUT VIEW) and put the
images in it. Then attach the javascript via the behaviours panel. You think
that sounds like it takes longer...but how long have you been struggling with
the error that doing it your way has caused?

I have made a navigation bar with drop down menus in Fireworks, and I am
trying to insert this into my page.
The only problem is that now the navigation bar doesn't work ....
I am using fireworks to export the html to dreamweaver and dreamweaver to
