Default Name in IE top bar - 08-03-2004 , 07:11 AM

Hi,
I used a template found on the net to begin working with DW.
No I'm finished making my site, but I cant seem to change the text that shows
at the top of my browser when I open my page in Internet Explorer.
Inside DW I have choosed a name in the "title" box, but still the name of the
template is the one shown in the top bar.!!!

Can you please help me.

Kind regards Henrik

One more thing - When i searh for the "unwanted" text inside the files in my
folder containing my site, The only file containing the text is index.htm...
But when I open that file It's not there - Not even if I view it in plain
HTML..!!!

Can you upload the page, or paste in the top section of your code?
Not really understanding what you mean - sorry. Is the site a framed site?

Are you sure that this template isn't a frameset and hence, containing
more than one file?
Both your questions suggests that this is the case:

It's common that relative newbies are changing the title of a *framed*
page believing that the title in the browser's title bar will change. If
it's a frameset, you need to change the title in the actual "frameset*
which holds the different pages.

The "index.html" is usually the URL of the actual frameset page. It has
more or less no other function than to be a frame and holding the other
pages. Hence, no text in it.

I suggest you take a closer look at what it is you really have, and to
look into the DW help files (press F1) to learn about framesets and to
see if that is what you have.

You cannot make a Dreamweaver Template from a frameset, but you may be
correct if the word "template" is being used in the generic sense.

Of couse, a glance at the code would tell the story....

I suspect it's the latter....
