Default My Site is blocked in DReamweaver - 07-13-2004 , 04:43 AM






Can some one shed some light on this for me.

when i go into edit my site in dreamweaver MX 2004 my cursor going into a
round circle with a line through it, a bit like a no enter sign. i have looked
and looked for this option but to no avail. GOT ANY IDEARS

Sounds like you are trying to edit an un-editable section of a template.
Look up Templates in the Help section to see what it is all about.

I have text and flash on m pages and it will not let me click on them i have the round cursor with line through. i can not move or edit the flash or text???????????

Have you got the original template page?( Extension: .dwt)
If you do, you can change the editable sections.

But read up on the subject, post a URL to one of your pages or just wait
till Murray is at his keyboard ;-)

think i have found my problem. i aint got the .dwl file.

Is there any way around this.???

Sort of. Choose Modify > Templates > Detach from Templates.

Sorted it.

Bye removing " <!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/index.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" --> " from the sorce code from within frontpage 2003. now everything is fine.
