Default My form works great, but not for everyone. Why? - 06-03-2008 , 07:59 AM

I have had a successful online form for a year now. I am very happy with it. I
use a surver-side script/method. I am a designer, not a programmer. Here is the
link:

http://updriven.com/quote.html

I had one person tell me they tried to send me their quote information twice
and because I didn't receive it I lost the opportunity to quote on the job.
(How many other potential clients have I lost?) Why doesn't my form work for
everyone? Is it a browser thing? If so, can I grab the code somewhere and
insert it and fix the problem?
Thanks lots,
Heather

do you have any idea of how many times the form has worked successfully? i would think that the first thing to do would be to rule out the possibility that the person in question is crazy.

And then check your spam filters. Perhaps it's sending an email and it's
getting caught by a filter.

Personally, though, I've never been a fan of giving quotes out for design
work based on an anonymous form. It seems to attract price shoppers rather
than portfolio shoppers.

and there are too many variables that will undoubtedly pop up later - leading
to confusion and conflict.

Thank you very much.

I have asked my provider if they can fix this problem based on the info given
in this forum. It's their CGI formmail script.

Is there another option for my forms other than the cgi formmail option I am
presently using from my provider?
