Default Multiple link styles driving me nuts - 07-09-2004 , 11:47 PM

OK, I admit it: I'm slow. Dense. A complete Homer Simpson. Whatever. But I'm
going nuts trying to figure out how to have a primary and secondary link
style on a web site. I'm using a template to design the pages using a
table-based design. mystyle.css is fine for all but about two links across
the entire site. These two other links -- one of which appears on all pages
and is therefore part of the template must be in different colors than the
majority of links.

I've read the tutorials, as well as responses here on the subject. But I'm
just not getting it. Is there any way I can change the color on an
individual basis for certain links?

I've already lost enough hair over the years that I am rapidly tiring of
tearing it out over this. Any help greatly appreciated.

Lane

Hi Homer...

....but seriously, do you not think that having different color links would
cause some confusion, from a usability point of view?

Actually, no. The main links are in a cell with a green background...are
white in L, H and A states...change to light pink in V state. The two links
that I need to do in a different color are in the content well (white
background). So, obviously, white won't work as a text color.

OK,

I finally figured out a way to do what I needed. Many thanks to the Patty
site...may her CSS always work cross-browser!!
