Default Mozilla Firebird browser and alt tags - 08-12-2004 , 02:30 PM

I've just started using the Firebird browser and have discovered that without
installing a particuclar extension, the browser does not normally recognize the
image alt tag to display the text. It is expecting a title tag. Does anyone
know the proper syntax for using a title tag to display the text description
for an image?

Wrap James' suggestion with -

<img src="foo.gif"...

and ...>

For what it's worth, IE/Windows is the only browser that displays that
text. The other browsers all get it right. ;-)

When you say 'replace the alt with title' I do hope you have not removed the
alt tag, but have added the Title tag, so you have both ALT and TItle tags, as
the ALT tags are needed when the image does not load, or different user devices
visit your site, and especially for making your site accessible for those using
Speech browsers

Edited: Silly question. A little experimentation to discover just replace the
alt with title and it works in both IE and Mozilla.

Depending on whether you think that NN4/Win exists or not there may be

I've tried my best to forget NN4, but you're right.
