Can Dreamweaver do this for me? |
|
There is also the issue of links to this page from other pages, but I don't want to expect too much from Dreamweaver. |

I created a web page in the wrong folder in my web site. Right now it is in the root folder. I want to move it to a sub folder off the root. However, all the relative paths to the images will have to be changed if I move the web page. Currently they are images/xxx.jpg, images/yyy.jpg, etc. If I move the web page where it should be, the paths need to be changed to ../images/xxx.jpg and ../images/yyy.jpg, etc. Can Dreamweaver do this for me? I moved the page (cut and pasted) to the correct folder, but all the image links were broken when I opened it in Dreamweaver (of course). Is Dreamweaver smart enough to fix this for me? I really don't want to change every image link on the page manually... There is also the issue of links to this page from other pages, but I don't want to expect too much from Dreamweaver. |

Outside of DW, move the page back where it was so all of the links will be correct again. Check all the links to make sure, and check the other pages that link to the page. Now, open DW, recreate the site's cache (just for good measure), and open the site window. Pick up and move the icon in the site widow that represents the page you want to move. Once you have dropped it into the new location, DW will ask you if you want all of the links updated. Say yes. DW should remake the links within the page so that they are adjusted to the page's new location, and adjust the links in any other pages that point to this page. -- James M. Or... |
|
Just open the page in DW and save it to the location where you want it to be. DW will adjust all of the links for you. |
