Default Move Pictures? - 01-01-2005 , 05:01 PM

Am I a idiot or what? I upload a picture but I can't move it. Is there some special stuff or what?

No, maybe not an idiot but utterly useless describing what you mean.

How are you trying to move it? If you want to move it on the remote server,
you would select it, and move it to another folder. If that's what you're
doing, are you getting an error message?

Are you referring to being able to move it around the page? Dreamweaver
isn't a desktop publishing or graphics program. You should read up on using
tables and constructing a web page, you can't just drag images around a page
and place them where you like.

If I'm misunderstanding your question, well.....sorry!

Sorry, I didn't explain good. I was rushing. No, I just don't know how to move
a image when making a website. I just bought Dreamweaver. I open it, insert >
image > upload the image, then I can't move it freely. Do you understand it
now? It just stays at the top-left of the page.

No reason to be sorry, but yeah, you'll want to read up on either using
CSS-P or tables to position elements within your page.

This maybe a good table tutorial to start with
http://www.dwfaq.com/Tutorials/Table...ble_tables.asp

As others have already mentioned, you need a 'container' for the image,
either a table or a layer.

Best option is to go through the DW help files - some of their starter
examples and the tutorial above.
http://macromedia.com/devnet/mx/dreamweaver/
I also have a few simple tuts at the link in my sig that maybe of use for a
beginner.
