MM Dreamweaver license issue with DW8 trial version

I'm currently using a devnet version of dwmx2004 supplied by my
company. I installed it without a license key straight from the Studio
cd that came with DevNet. I tested the Dreamweaver 8 trial version and
uninstalled it from my PC. I cannot use dwmx2004 currently. I've
uninstalled it entirely and reinstalled and it keeps asking for a
license key. The bureaucratic issue is that our devnet info and
employees responsible for it are long gone. I don't want to use a
license key for a different seat of dreamweaver. How can I quickly fix
this? Can I clean out the registry? How did this happen anyway?
