Missing tabs on the insert bar

Hello,
I do not have certain tabs on my insert bar. I'm missing 'characters', 'media', script'.
How do I add these?

same here. My insert bar is missing the Layers tab. And in my dw menus, under
Insert > Layout Objects, it shows Div Tag and Layers in the menu, but nothing
happens when i select them.

My Layers panel does not let me create new layers, but it does show existing
layers.

I know we can dig into the configuration files in various places on the
harddrive, such as (on mac osx) User > Library > Application Support >
Macromedia > Dreamweaver MX 2004 > Configuration .. but i don't know what to in
there!
