Missing Preference Setting for Layer

Hello

Can someone please check something in their Dreamweaver MX 2004 preferences?
Under the 'layers' section of the preferences panel, there is supposed to be a
'tag' attribute that you can set to DIV or SPAN. Mine (preference) is missing
(help menu says it should be there). Thank you for your time in replying.

Since divs and spans are not really interchangable, I can't imagine what it
was in the help files which said this. Would you mind telling me how I can
find this in the help files?

Divs are block level and spans are inline, just for your info.

Setting the Layers Preferences dialog box options (page title)
The purpose of this dialog box is to set Layers preferences.
To complete the Layers Preferences dialog box:
Specify any of the following options:
Tag sets the HTML tag for Dreamweaver to use when creating layers.
The options are div (the default) and span. For more information, see HTML
code for layers.
Visibility determines whether layers are visible by default.
The options are default, inherit, visible, and hidden. For more information
about those options, see Setting layer properties.
Width and Height specify a default width and height (in pixels) for layers you
create using Insert > Layer.
Background Color specifies a default background color.
Select a color from the color picker.
(there's more but I didn't copy it)

'Tag' is supposed to be an option in the preferences, yet it does not appear
in the options. The reason I was looking in the first place was that I
remembered the setup from version 3 that allowed you to change what kind of
layer you created within the properties dialog box.

Well, heck, ignore it!

It makes no good sense to have DW use <span> for 'layers' - this option was
removed in DMX.
