Aloha!

I deleted the preferences from the home folder, and could not find the Dreamweaver preference in the main library.

I'll try this disk utility thing next. THANK YOU!!

Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility

Double click the Disk Utility icon. Over on the left, highlight the icon
representing our hard drive. Then click Repair Disk Permissions.

I haven't really figured out the routine yet - there are lots of
conflicting opinions - but a lot of people recommend you repair your
disk permissions every time you install a new software program. Some run
it before and after installing a new program.

Also, if you're running Leopard, have you installed the two Leopard
updates - 10.5.1 and 10.5.2? The weird thing is, when I repair my disk
permissions now, I get three "ACL" errors every time, even though that's
a problem 10.5.2 is supposed to fix.

:light;
Has your issue been resolved?
I have had the same problem with OS 10.5.2, new and newly formatted hard
drives. I did a little more research in the tech notes from Abode because of
course this all happens on the weekend when every else is at the beach. I ran
across this little bit of info. So, if you or anyone else can beni. Please read
on...

7. Remove special characters from hard drive name and file paths.
Some features in Dreamweaver do not function properly if special characters
exist in the names of hard drives or folders in which the Dreamweaver
application, the local root folder, or browsers reside. Spaces are acceptable
in the hard drive name, but a leading space in the hard drive name may cause
problems. Refer to "File or folder name in Mac OS may break Dreamweaver
functionality" (TechNote tn_14452) for more information and instructions.

Dreamweaver still does not open. Had used disk utility a number of time. There
are not unusual characters in anything.
I cannot open Dreamweaver in the administrator account which I use all the
time, but if go into a newly created user account on my mac I can open it. So
weird!
