Login Help

I have made a login page and restricted access to a page, but when I go to login to the page it never loads, may I ask why? It loads when I take the restriction off.

If you have restriction on the login page, it restricts you from accessing
the page before you can enter your details.
You have to have the login page without restrictions and all pages
thereafter requesting authorisation.

The restriction is not on the login page, but the others it is.
