Default loading page inside frames - 12-22-2003 , 10:26 PM






hi there

my index page does not have any frames, but does have links to pages that i want to display inside the frameset that i've created. my friends . . . how do i do this?

Create a new frameset displaying the desired pages and link to that
frameset.

yep, tried that, but just get my blank frames and not the page that i'm trying to link to.

any other ideas?

best would be to not use frames if not able to sort out the whys and whens
and wherefores of it.

One way- is to make a new frameset, For each link you have on that
non-framed page; that displays the content in IT in each frame that you
want. Then link to the FRAMESET. Not the "page", the frameset that contains
that page. Use a link to the frameset for links on the intro page that has
no frames.

later in site, when they are in the framed pages- use the TARGET attribute
of the link to open a page in the frame you want it be in (this is for when
that frame already exists)

My FrameStuffer extension at http://www.pawluk.com/public/dw/dwfset.htm
can do the job.

Click on the "Read Stuffer Help" link to see how it works. The section
you want is "Site Navigation" in the popup window. You might want to
print this out and read it more than once :-)
