Default Load 2 frames at once - 05-25-2004 , 11:51 AM

Can I load two frames with one click without loading a new frameset. I have 3 frames and I would like 2 of them to load.
Thanks

Select the trigger, and apply the gotoURL behavior which will let you change
as many frames as you want with a single event.

While you are waiting for this page to upload, consider how confused your
visitor will be when they then press the back arrow on the browser and only
a single frame changes. This is one of the many good reasons why you would
not use frames unless you had a compelling motive for doing so.

The better way is to use nested framesets; it stops the confusing Murray
was talking about.

Make as many framesets as you need that contain the two frames you want
to change.

make your main framesets containing two frames; one frame with the
navigation, the other frame with the area you want to change.

change the source of the frame of the area you want to change to one of
the framesets (containing 2 frames) you just build.

Be careful with the naming of frames; if you rely on automatic naming
you might endup wit two frames with the same name.

This is a good solution if the two framed pages will always be displayed
together. If either of the two pages may be displayed with a variety of
other frames, then at some point you will have an unmanageable
proliferation of framesets.

And, of course, if the two frames will always be displayed together, why
use a frameset for them?
