Linking to bbs

I am working on a project for which I designed a website to which I now also
want to add a bbs. I installed phpbb in a subfolder called "ascent" on my
webspace. When Im in cpanel and click the link that directs me towrds the newly
created phpbb, i am taen to the url towardstitan.org/ascent. However, when I
add this url into the link I want people to use to access the board, the link
doesnt work.!

any ideas?
