linking

i am kinda new to dream weaver 2 weeks new i have this problem when i link
sumtin for example www.link.com it shows up as www.server.com/www.link.com i
only can link pages inside the server how do i link to other sites

in the link box in the Property Inspector make sure you use the full url
http:/www.link.com
