Default LINK or Hypertext: Graphic Button or Text - 11-09-2004 , 01:56 PM

I'm modifying a web site. The previous designer used Photoshop to create text
buttons and is using them for hypertext links. Why not just use formatted text?
Is there an advantage to turning words into uneditable pictures?
