Link Colors

I have a very basic site designed with dreamweaver. It has a navigation bar on
the left with a number of links that are black. The main page however needs
links that are colored. Since I cant set the default link color as "colored"
since I need the navbar links to be colored and since the default link color is
black, every time I set a new link on any page it turns out black even though i
want it to be colored, and the annoying thing is that dreamweaver generally
doesnt respond when I manually change the link from black to colored... How can
I do this?
