Layout cell positioned absolute bottom of browser

How can I position a layout cell (containing an image) to be positioned across
the absolute bottom of the browser? The image will auto stretch horizontally as
ive included a spacer.
The intention is also to insert a flash movie positioned above and central to
the afore mentioned layout cell.
I was thinking of using css as a background, however I cant use both a image
and background gradient fill?..

Any help would be appreciated
