Default Layout behavior changes when adding hotspot. - 08-02-2004 , 05:52 AM

Hello everyone,

it's been a while since I used Dreamweaver again, so perhaps some of my
questions might have a very simple answer.
In case my questions seem very odd, I'd like to apologise on advance.

Anyway, to the point now.
I've inserted an image into a layer.
The position of the layer is composed of percentages. L: 0%; T: 0%; W: 12%; H:
5%
The image inside the layer has 100% both for Width and Height in order to take
up the full layer-space.

This means that when the page is set to a smaller size, the layer will never
disappear out of the page. Instead, it'll reduce it's size to remain inside the
page at all times.

However, this is going great up till now.
When resizing the page, the position of the layer will still be at L: 0%; T: 0%

When I place a hotspot on it for linking purposes, something strange happens
when I resize the page.
The T: 0%, does not longer apply.
Remember that the height was set to 5%.
Before I placed the hotspot, when resizeing the page, height became E.G. 3%,
leaving the layer reside at L: 0%, T: 0%.
This means that the image becomes smaller from beneath.

When the hotspot is placed, the image becomes smaller from above when
resizeing the page. So the height would still be 3%, but it doesn't remain at
T: 0%.
Instead, it now remains still from the bottom of the image.

This is a serious problem, because this applies to several images in a
menu-like structure.

Can anybody help me to resolve this?
I hope this wasn't too much of babble.

Kind Regards and thx a lot on advance,

Ruben.

There's no means for getting it into this thread, so can I have your mail address than to post the code and the actual pages?

Thanks again.

No, I'd rather not have you email it to me.

Is there no way for you to upload the page somewhere?

Hej, that's ok. I understand about mailing issues.
You're absolutely right.

However, I don't have webspace for personal matters and the company I'm
designing this page for,
still needs the old space and I can't just give you access to a temp subpage.

I'll think of a way to show you the info though.
Perhaps one of my friends can post it somewhere.
I'll let you know as soon as I get the chance too,

thx for your patience,
Ruben.
