Hi, I have two layers. Layer one contains a image whereas layer two contains a flash file. layer one is on the left of the page and layer 2 is on the right of the page. When you make the page smaller horizontally I want layer two to go underneath layer one. I adjusted the z-index to make this work, however as long as the flash file is there it refuses to work. I've tried taking the flash file out and changing bg colour and it works exactly right. What else do I need to do to make it work correctly ? Thanks, Andy. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. All Active content on a page will always rise to the top, so to speak, including Flash, certain form elements, Java applets, and Active X controls. This means that each of these will poke through layers. There is not a good cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this issue, but if you can be confident in your visitors using IE 5+ or NN6+ (Windows only), then you can use the Flash wmode parameter. It doesn't work in all browsers (NN4) or platforms (Windows only) but it's implemented in the latest netscapes: http://devedge.netscape.com/ MM articles: http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/flash_top_layer.htm http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/wmode.htm Aziz's solution - http://www.bezworks.com/lab/opaque.htm -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Team Macromedia Volunteer for Dreamweaver MX (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== news://forums.macromedia.com/macromedia.dreamweaver - THE BEST WAY TO GET ANSWERS ================== http://www.dreamweavermx-templates.com - Template Triage! http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.macromedia.com/support/search/ - Macromedia (MM) Technotes ================== "Andy" <andyww14 (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote in message news:canc93$2ad$1 (AT) forums (DOT) macromedia.com... Is there a solution for situations that don't involve Flash? For example, a flyout menu displays over a drop-down menu but it displays behind it instead of in front of it. |
