Default Layers - 11-01-2005 , 12:13 PM

Being a beginner with Dreamweaver, I have designed my website with layers BUT
the problem is some of the members looking at the site say that the layers
overlap and I don't know how to fix this. On my computer, I don't have this
problem of overlapping. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Also, I tried to download the Dreamweaver update for 2004MX and I get to one
stage and it says "folder does not contain Dreamweaver". It's there, I see
it.. and am registered. Any more suggestions.

Thanks.

That is the problem with using "layers" to lay out your site. All you
have to do to see it explode like that is increase the text size in your
browser. About your only recourse is to rebuild the site without using
absolute positioning (which is what layers do).

Most common cause for this is that you already have v7.01.

You're welcome. You've built the page on an extremely fragile
foundation. I'm afraid starting over is the only way you'll ever get it
stable.

The content is there - its just time..
I think it will be easier to use one of the templates that DW offers..

You're welcome. I'd be careful about using the "Page Designs (CSS)".
They can be pretty quirky. The others are pretty stable.

You're welcome. As I said, about anything that tickles your fancy,
except the "Page Designs (CSS)".
