Default LAYERS....? - 08-05-2004 , 01:57 AM

this is a long shot.... but here goes.

Layers the website I am working on is my first site and I'm trying to
get this scrolling layer>> http://www.valonia.com.au/scroll2.htm to fit and
work on to this table based site >> http://www.valonia.com.au/test.htm which
is - note: aligned centrally.

Can't I just cut and paste the code from the 'scrolling layer' into the right
place and change some dimesional co-ordinates and lock it's position to the
cell image behind it? I downloaded snap layer extension, will this help?

What you can do is insert a relatively positioned <div> into the table
cell where you want your scroller to be positioned.

Then make sure the container layer of the scroller (sometimes called the
daddylayer} is positioned absolutely, top: 0; left: 0; Then select and
move the whole scroller into the relatively positioned one in the table
cell.

Yes, you can do it with snap by placing a transparent anchor image into
the table cell where you want the scroller positioned and then snapping
the scroller container layer to the image.

The way I previously described will give you a seamless design, ie the
scroller wont jump into position each time the browser window is
re-adjusted.
