In DW MX 2004, is there any way to make a layer element 'go to the background' while you're editing your page? I have one containing some graphics that's in my face when I'm trying to work, and it would be nice if it'd simply go behind the scenes so I could see what I'm doing. I don't see any option to 'hide' it while I'm working. Anybody know how to hide them?... |

Select the layer and use the visibility field in the Property inspector? Or apply a design time stylesheet that hides it? -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Team Macromedia Volunteer for Dreamweaver (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== http://www.dreamweavermx-templates.com - Template Triage! http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.macromedia.com/support/search/ - Macromedia (MM) Technotes ================== "Jenna" <geekwannabee (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote in message news:dkr2gk$ds7$1 (AT) forums (DOT) macromedia.com... The Property Inspector setting doesn't have any effect on it in design view; setting it to invisible makes that layer NOT show up when you view the page, which isn't what I need. Maybe "design time stylesheet that hides it" is. I've never heard of them, but am hitting the books on it now, thanks Murray! Well, what I mean is, when I set it to "invisible", it was still visible. Which wasn't the look I was goin' for, LOL! ![]() No. It's not. You would need to set it to hidden, and then click on some other element on the page. I assume you would have to "undo" this each time you worked on a page? |

Hmmm...yes it does go away. But then when I preview the page, it isn't there, either. I assume you would have to "undo" this each time you worked on a page? I guess that would work, but involve extra steps to make sure you didn't forget and upload a page with half the stuff missing. Nevertheless, this is a good workaround. Thks, Murray.
