What on earth do you mean, Dan? The http sever making what exactly? Making
him think that he should have the power to take over everyone's browsers and
close them all at once without asking their permission?? That sounds rather
ludicrous, don't you think?
I mean the multiple posts.
Still, I suddenly got an unpleasant recollection of another newsgroup
when I made a "stupid" post and the seniors in that group threw
themselves at me trying to post the smartest remark.
I just think this NG is better than that. Give the guy a break.

No one in here has any interest in helping anyone that is out to install
malicious software on folks computers.

Go away.

No one is giving the guy crap for posting the same thing a million times,
they're reacting to his request for something that goes against everything
we all beleive in. You wanna show him how to annihilate all browser windows
without asking the permission of the user? Somehow I doubt it.

His was not a *stupid* post, it was a post requesting us to teach him to do
something which I (and others) believe to be unethical in regards to web
design. If he'd asked a bunch of plumbers how to make a pipe bomb that spews
up toilet water instead of blowing people up, how would you react?

So you're not just momentarily unethical in your web development, but
COMLETELY unethical. Nice. Had hoped that it was a temporary brain fade
you'd get over.

As I said before, there are ways to crash IE, but not other browsers. And I
wouldn't teach you how to do it any more than I'd teach you how to leak the
air out of someone's tires.

Yeah, I have a soft spot (well concealed).
I just thought it was overkill at first. But then he pursued....
