Default Javascript error: exception throw... - 07-08-2003 , 01:13 PM

Hi!

I'm running Dreamweaver MX on a Dell LATITUDE C840, using Windows 2000. I've been using MX successfully for 6 months. Recently, I've been experiencing very specific problems when either deleting files, or updating templates. Typically, Dreamweaver freezes, and I have to CONTROL-ALT-DELETE in order to re-open the software.

Here are two of the errors I have gotten:

"While executing the DWContext_LocalSite Delete command in menus.xml, the following javascript error(s) occured: exception throw in native funtion"

"While executing the DWMenu_File_Close command in menus.xml, the following SC error occured: exception throw in native function"

I've had a few errors that tell me that there are specific errors in an XSL document referring to "Line 30, position 80". Unfortunately, I neglected to take down the entire error message.

I have recenlty been trying to create "pop-up" navigation bars in Fireworks and have brought a few of these documents into Dreamweaver to test. Could this be causing the problem?

I can't make any updates, and am very frustrated. I've gone so far as to re-install my Dreamweaver program, but that has made no difference.

Can anyone help? I am not a programmer, so please keep explainations as straight-foward as possible...!??

Many thanks!

Rufus:

What extensions have you recently installed?

Have you tried rebuilding your site cache? (SITE | Recreate Site Cache)

Might you be using a network shared drive for your local sites?
