Default Internet Explorer V Firefox Difference in page view - 07-27-2009 , 01:50 PM

Hi,

I am laying out a basic site and just note that when I view the site
in IE it looks a little different when viewing in Firefox. If I set a
top margin of 20px it seems to look fine in IE but pushed down much
further in FireFox, is there a reason for this?

Are padding values treated differently also?

Thanks,

Andy ;-)

Every web broswer is different and they can change between versions of the
same browser - that's what makes web development such a pain in the
sit-upon, and why some sites have a byline saying "looks best in XYZ
browser".

It would be great to simply ignore Internet Explorer as garbage since
Microsoft simply ignores all the standards and does things thei own way, but
the problem is the vast majority of people use it because it's installed as
part of Windows. :-(
