Hi,

Sorry if the title is a bit vague, I am unsure of the terminology for this
area of web design.

The new generation websites are having more user interaction, like moving
photos around onscreen on flickr.com and the following website which has
sparked my interest. To be able to custom design, manipulate and view t-shirt
samples in real time.

What software is used to build these sites?
Is there stuff available on Open Source?
Where are there tutorials to learn all this jazz?

Do you think customink commissioned a purpose built app or tweeked an
off-the-shelf product?

I am looking at a setup for a website where customers can build their own tour
package by slotting different components together (like you drag photos about
on Flickr).

Look for AJAX in Google, thats the technology used. Some people call it Web 2.0
as well, but its just some clever Javascript library. There are several
frameworks, SPRY is one of them made my Adobe.

Facebook is a good example of it used well.
