I guess it's possible, but I seriously doubt many, if any, browsers have
implemented it.

If you really want to do this, I'd try absolutely positioning it under the
div. You'd have a better chance there, although you may have some z-index (it
may wanna be always on top) issues depending on how browsers have implemented
it.

Are you thinking you can layer text on top of a Flash object if it's in the
background? Flash doesn't work that way. The only reliable way to add
text, links or images to Flash objects is to do it in Flash or some other
Flash authoring program using Action Script.

Hi:

Unfortunately, I am having to deal with the limitations of a purchased
template that my client wants to use. There's no text to overlay, and it need
not print.

I will try the AP div first as logically it seems to make the most sense for
success.

yes you can put flash as a background yes you can,

you have to use swobject, look at it and you will see how to use it, flash
will be embeded in a div where you can specify z-index, position, etc.
