Default Indent using spaces, not tabs - 10-02-2008 , 09:40 AM

Hi there,
I've googled this, searched the forums, but nobody seems to have a problem
with this:
Im working in an environment which requires spaces for code formatting - no
tabs in our documents whatsoever.
I've tried setting this using Prefs > Code format > Indent with Spaces and it
doesnt do anything - every time my code is either manually or automatically
formatted, it uses tabs!!
I would like to use dreamweaver here, but this is making it impossible. Am I
missing something?
Thanks!
Jacob

That is weird.

I have mine set to "Indent with 4 spaces" and "Tab size 4" and each time I tab
something over dreamweaver adds four spaces. And when I apply source
formatting it uses spaces too. Sorry this reply isn't really helpful at all.

Heheh! Sorry for not explaining myself!
NOT html spaces for representation; I need what Aptana has, in that you can
write code without using tabs as an indenting and formatting mechanism, as seen
in:
#myCSSselector {
something: value
}

VS

#myCSSselector {
something: value
}

Example 2 uses a tab character for formatting, Example 1 uses spaces.
Example 1 is a recomended standard: see

@ rlhosman wait - does code formatting ONLY work with html? Or should it work across all languages?
