Default Importing Word on a Mac - 11-07-2004 , 12:21 AM

:confused; Everything I know and read tells me to go to File:Import and select
Microsoft Word. All I have on the Import menu is XML Into Template... and
Tabular Data... There must be something I'm not doing. Any help?

Don't know if this will help, BUT:

I had huge problems trying to get Mac data into Windows format and found that
changing the file extentions of the Mac files into ".doc" enabled the content
to be saved in Word. From Word you shouldn't have any problems...

Hope this will sort your problem!

Unfortunately, that only works on Windows machines. The Mac operating
system prevents it from working. Your next best solution is probably to
copy/paste.

It prevents a 'headless' version of Word from running which is what needs to
happen. So, yes.

There are two ways to import PC Word file to Mac.
1. Save text as Rich Text Format and than import it.
2. If it doesn't work, save file for Word for Windows2.
3. There are some options in "Save as" in "Document Type"-field, where you can
choise some Mac Word's types, but I'm not very sure.

Copy and Paste works fine. The problem is that there is an option under
File that is never enabled on the Mac. That's what the thread is about....
