Importing html file into a table

Does any one know how to do this.
I have set up the page with buttons on it and I want to change the information within a specific table.
Dreamweaver has a behaviour called 'Change Property' but I don't want to use this as it is realy only any good for short snipets of text.

I want to change the images and text dependant to the button clicked using another file, as this will make the original load time faster.

I want still to use the onclick function


At the moment I am using layers and using SSi <!--#include file="twebdesign.htm" --> with a different file on each layer swithcing the layers on and off using onclick.

While this works it is not giving me the flexability needed as the layers are a set width and height.
and the files I want to import have tables that are set to width 100%

any ideas?????
